Dignity describes a relationship
Dignity describes the traditional relationship between a graha and the rāśi it occupies: for example own sign, exaltation, debilitation, or a friend's sign. It is not a score for whether a person or planet is good or bad. Its meaning must be read with house lordship, placement, relationships, and timing.
State is a separate layer
Retrograde motion is an apparent reversal seen from Earth; combustion describes proximity to the Sun under a declared rule threshold. These states may modify how a tradition reads a graha, but the threshold and school must be visible. Astrolife never hides them inside an unexplained strength number.
Synthesize, do not total
A graha can have supportive dignity and a challenging relationship at the same time. A careful reading preserves those conditions instead of adding them into a numerical confidence score. The chart fact graph records each condition separately so a user can inspect exactly which rule is active.
