The ninth division
Navāṃśa divides every rāśi into nine portions of 3°20′. Each portion maps to a D9 sign through a defined sequence. Astrolife preserves the exact D1 longitude that produced the D9 placement so a user can inspect the boundary rather than seeing an unexplained sign change.
Traditional uses
D9 is commonly used to examine dharma, the maturation or underlying strength of natal factors, and marriage or partnership themes. Calling it only a marriage chart is too narrow; calling it a second destiny chart is too vague. Its meaning comes from comparison with D1.
Compare, do not overwrite
Start with a graha's D1 sign, house, lordship, and dignity. Then compare its D9 sign, dignity, house from D9 Lagna, and relationships. Agreement may reinforce a theme; difference invites a more conditional synthesis rather than declaring D1 false.
